ABOUT:
The world has been on hold for so long and we all deserve to celebrate this Christmas in the most romantic, nostalgic and glamorous way possible! Join us for this spectacular jazz club pop-up that marks the return of the Niels Lan Doky International Jazz Collective to The Standard Jazz Club at its original beautiful harbourfront location, on the 1st floor of the iconic green art deco building in Havnegade in Copenhagen*.
For four Saturdays in a row, from November 27 to December 18, an international cast of amazing musicians and vocalists from the NLD IJC (including weekly guest artists) will deliver a compelling and engaging show highlighting the Christmas holiday season, based on famous songs by mainly Nat King Cole and Ray Charles, such as “Let There Be Love”, “Let The Good Times Roll”, “Winter Wonderland”, and many others.
There are only 4 Saturdays available and only limited capacity per show. So grab your tickets now before it is too late! Join us either for just jazz & cocktails upstairs in the jazz club or have dinner before or after the show in one of our restaurants.
THE STANDARD
The Standard has one of Copenhagen's most beautiful locations near the Inderhavn bridge and Nyhavn. The guests can enjoy beautiful views all year round from all the restaurants in the house, and during the summer, the terrace offers refreshing snacks and cool drinks just a few steps from the water. The Standard houses four unique concepts: the top restaurant STUD!O, the modern, Danish bistro Almanak, the colorful, vegetable forward restaurant, Mission and an exclusive Private Dining Room.
Originally the building, which today constitutes The Standard, was used as a custom house and was called Gammel Toldkammer. It was built in 1937 by the Danish architect and royal building inspector Kristoffer Varming. Due to its elongated shape, it is also called the "penal house".
After a major renovation, the first restaurants in the building opened in 2005. In 2013, Claus Meyer and a group of investors took over the entire building. They then opened Almanac, STUD!O, the Indian restaurant Verandah and the now defunct The Standard Jazz Club. At the end of 2017, the current owner group took over Claus's house operation, and after a respectful refurbishment in 2018, The Standard Private Dining was completed in the old Jazz club.
